We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Customs Specialist to join our team at Grafton Recruitment. As a Customs Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with customs regulations and laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customs Compliance: Ensure all import/export operations comply with national and international customs laws, tariffs, and regulations.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and process necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Coordinate planned activities with logistics, plants, and warehouses, transportation partners to determine the most effective way to fulfill customer orders.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry trends.
- Due Diligence: Perform due diligence activities associated with screening processes of third parties, including checking at a transactional level.
- Import/Export Controls: Determine import/export controls, EUR1, GSP, ATR, COO, End Use, IPR, OPR, Import/Export Licenses applicable to orders and coordinate with the trade compliance team as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience: Two or more years of experience in handling all aspects of customs experience within the logistics and supply chain industry.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in handling documentation and compliance matters.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with fluency in English written and spoken.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in import and export.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret government regulations, experience in developing work procedures and written instructions.
