About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Supervisor to join our team at Howdens Joinery. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance and engineering activities to ensure asset performance, reliability, and quality are guaranteed and improved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance and engineering activities to ensure asset performance, reliability, and quality are guaranteed and improved.
  • Develop and implement world-class maintenance methods to minimize downtime and improve asset performance.
  • Lead Route Cause Analysis for reliability and quality improvement.
  • Develop and implement calibration standards for critical assets.
  • Responsible for improving maintenance and asset KPI's as defined by the maintenance manager.
  • Lead critical spares analysis for assets as allocated by the maintenance manager.
  • Maintain spares and improve life cycle of components.
  • Undertake design out activities with members of their team.
  • Plan and allocate work for the maintenance team and ensure work is completed to a high standard by their team.
  • Ensure maintenance interventions on critical assets are bought off.
  • Ensure man hours are recorded for maintenance work.
  • Undertake 1:2:1's with team members to identify training needs and develop behaviours aligned to Howdens mission statement and culture.
  • Coordinate and undertake equipment Risk Assessments and SOP's.
  • Lead the use of dynamic risk assessments within the maintenance team.
  • Deputise for the maintenance manager out of hours to ensure planned and unplanned activities are conducted safely.
  • Identify and implement safe working practices.
  • Identify and implement risk reduction on equipment.
  • Ensure statutory maintenance work orders are completed on time and feedback in CMMS.
  • Manage and coordinate contractor activities through PTW's.
Requirements
  • Formal Health and Safety qualification.
  • CIEH Level 3 Health & Safety.
  • NEBOSH general Certificate (preferred).
  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
