Job Title: Associate Town Planner

Location: Kent, UK

The Penguin Recruitment team is delighted to support a leading independent planning practice based in Kent. This respected organization excels at delivering expert planning advice and innovative solutions for various development projects.

This role involves working with a seasoned planner who is eager to take on more responsibility and contribute to the strategic direction of our projects and practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage complex planning projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring timely and budget-friendly project completion.
  • Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert planning advice, managing client expectations, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Planning Applications: Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, coordinating technical reports, and ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage junior planners, offering guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to help them grow within the practice.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Education: A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field. A master's degree is highly desirable.
  • Professional Accreditation: Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in a planning role, with a proven track record in leading and delivering successful planning projects.
