Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage costs related to highway projects from planning to completion.
  2. Work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  3. Manage all costs related to projects in accordance with contractual agreements.
  4. Monitor and report on the commercial position of projects.

Commercial Management:

  1. Oversee projects' financial performance, ensuring profit target and efficiency savings.
  2. Identify and manage risks and opportunities effectively.
  3. Deal with commercial queries and advise on legal matters.

Project Monitoring:

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial logs, cost plans, and project forecasts.
  2. Undertake monthly reporting, including Monthly Progress Reports (MPR), Cost Value Reconciliation (CRV) and commentaries.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Contract Management
  2. Cost estimates and forecasting accuracy
  3. Weekly & monthly reporting of commercial performance
  4. Timely revenue from billing applications to customers
  5. Cost control processes
  6. Resolution of payment issues
  7. Interim valuations, Contractors' claims, and settlement for Final Accounts.

Requirements:

  1. Proven and recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role.
  2. Ability to work independently without supervision.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related course (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience)
  2. Hold or working towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body i.e. Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) (desirable)
  3. CSCS card holder (desirable)
  4. PTS card holder (desirable - rail only)
