About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Contract Lawyer to join our client's in-house legal team in the Midlands. As a key member of the team, you will provide comprehensive legal advice to all levels of the organisation, draft, review, and negotiate contracts, and manage legal risk across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice to the organisation on commercial contracts and related matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies
  • Manage legal risk across the organisation, identifying and mitigating potential risks
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in law and regulations
  • Represent the organisation in legal proceedings and liaise with external counsel
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and provide training to staff on legal issues
Requirements
  • A degree in law and a valid license to practise
  • Strong knowledge of the legal landscape, particularly in commercial contracts and public sector law
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice
