The role resides within the Quilter Legal Department, reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Legal and collaborating with other team members.

This position entails providing timely, high-quality commercial legal advice to Quilter's platform and financial advice businesses, as well as central functions. You'll have the chance to engage in a broad range of commercial matters, encompassing both contentious and non-contentious aspects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering commercial contracts related to technology procurement from suppliers, working closely with the Procurement team.
  • Negotiating contracts with financial advisors, in collaboration with relevant business contract management teams.
  • Supporting the Deputy Head of Legal on corporate transactions, such as acquisitions and disposals, as required.
  • Assisting the Head of Legal with customer complaints and disputes, as necessary.
  • Providing general commercial legal advice on matters impacting the business.
  • Sourcing cost-effective external legal counsel where required to protect business interests.
  • Offering specialist guidance on relevant legal updates and legislative developments.
  • Reporting effectively on legal issues and risk exposure, escalating actions as appropriate, and minimizing exposure to litigation, risk, and associated costs.
  • Promoting the operational efficiency of the Legal team.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with 2-3 years of experience, having advised on commercial contracts including technology agreements. Experience in contentious matters/disputes is desirable but not essential.

You will need to possess excellent communication skills, be able to negotiate, build relationships, and influence others to achieve desired outcomes. Additionally, you should be willing to take on a diverse caseload, prioritize effectively, work efficiently, and identify opportunities to add value.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including:
