Job Summary:
Fusion People Ltd is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join their team. As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will be responsible for overhauling and testing the company's range of hydraulic products, including pumps, motors, valves, and power units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with company and statutory quality, health and safety, environmental, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Fault finding down to component level using test results to pinpoint failures.
- Precise assembly and testing of hydraulic pumps, motors, servo valves, manifolds, and hydraulic actuators.
- Inspection of incoming components for defects and imperfections.
- Testing assembled products to strict criteria required within the rail sector.
- Carrying out quality inspections at all stages of the assembly process.
- Creating and completing technical documentation and procedures.
- Working within clean room environments.
- To cover stores area as required.
- To preserve and maintain all company tools and equipment in your care.
- Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- Maintain a good attendance at work.
- Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
- Report near misses.
Requirements:
- Understanding of hydraulics with ability to accurately assemble and test the company's wide range of products.
- Knowledge and experience of cleanliness requirements in hydraulics and safety precautions in pressure testing.
- Good knowledge of general engineering practices such as overhauling units/measuring/use of measuring equipment/component inspection/testing and fault finding.
Qualifications/Education:
- Desirable - Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings.
- Desirable - Engineering/Mechanical or Hydraulic qualification.
- Experience within a similar role.
- Good hand skills in an engineering workshop.
