Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical systems and products, meeting business needs and product requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify product requirements and risks, and define risk control plans.
- Develop and maintain mechanical layouts, including 3D models and drawings, using CAD systems.
- Participate in the verification of designs through analytical or finite element models or physical tests, and document test results.
- Design and build prototypes and associated fabrication and test tooling.
- Develop and maintain product file documentation, including fabrication and test procedures.
- Participate in the definition of test procedures, perform tests, and document results.
- Prepare accurate status reports and provide timely corrective actions on encountered defects or issues.
- Participate in technical reviews of requirements, risks, designs, product files, and other artifacts.
- Prepare technical user documentation and provide training and support to field users and clients.
- Present new or improved products to technical and management audiences.
- May assign, direct, and review the work of technicians and mentor junior engineers.
- Share expertise internally and expand the informal network throughout the organization.
- Contribute to the capture of company experience in design books and other standards, procedures, and training packages.
- Author or co-author technical reports, invention disclosures, papers, and presentations.
- Stay up-to-date with novel technologies, including manufacturing processes and techniques, and continually improve skills to develop innovative and cost-effective products.
- Maintain familiarity with the company's technology, organization, and business.
- Comply with applicable company policies, standards, and procedures, including those related to personnel, quality, and health, safety, and environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Subsea Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Professional experience within Mechanical Engineering.
