About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Architect to join our team at Together. As a Business Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping and translating business strategies into actionable roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate at the Portfolio Level: Represent the Business domain as part of an Architecture and Design team, effectively communicating business needs and strategies.
  • Support Business Strategy: Collaborate with the Architecture & Design Director to shape and translate business strategies, ensuring alignment with key initiatives.
  • Define Target Architecture: Own the definition of target architecture and target operating models, ensuring they align with business strategy and goals.
Day-to-Day Activities
  • Develop Capabilities Catalogue: Maintain and develop the catalogue of capabilities that align to the Enterprise Reference Model, including their definition.
  • Run Architecture Community: Lead the Architecture Community of Practice, ensuring regular communication and collaboration among architecture disciplines.
  • Match Business Strategies: Identify areas where business strategies align with capabilities, and areas where investment or cost savings are needed.
  • Articulate Business Needs: Ensure the business can articulate its needs in relation to significant, strategic activities, including audit actions.
  • Resolve Audit Actions: Provide timely and effective resolution of audit actions relating to the technology estate and its architecture.
  • Support Business Initiatives: Collaborate on strategic and significant business-facing initiatives, including the definition and design of target operating models and their transition states.
  • Investigate Business Considerations: Investigate and surface business considerations that contribute to design direction.
  • Champion Requirements Capture: Support the delivery trains to continually improve the clarity of both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Deliver Business Consultancy: Provide business consultancy and support for the shaping and refinement of new business ideas or opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Business Architecture: Proven experience in Business Architecture within complex, regulated organizations.
  • Target Operating Models: Experienced in the development and delivery of Target Operating Models and Target Architecture through a 'Business' lens.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with exposure to Exec-level stakeholders.
  • Community Leadership: Experience of leading, shaping, and contributing to communities of practice in a Continuous Delivery / DevOps operating model.
  • Business Strategy Translation: Experience of translating business strategy into actionable roadmaps.
  • Delivery Focus: Delivery-focused, striking a pragmatic balance between design and quick wins / execution.
  • Architectural Domains: Experience of working with other Architectural domains to demonstrate the value of an architecture function.
  • Business Requirements: Significant experience of developing and delivering best practice when it comes to understanding and capturing business requirements, ideally in a Transformation context.
  • Facilitation: An experienced facilitator, able to synthesize complex business problems into actionable instructions for delivery teams.

  • ArchiMate Experience: Experience of ArchiMate.
  • ADO Experience: Experience of working with ADO.
