Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Aston Charles as a risk underwriter specialising in construction sector risks, particularly those related to roofers and scaffolders. You will be responsible for writing liability risks within these sectors, focusing on employer’s and public liability risks with premiums averaging around £5,000.

The role is remote-based, offering flexibility and autonomy. Occasionally, you may need to attend a regional office to meet colleagues or participate in training sessions. However, those living closer may choose to attend more frequently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience underwriting business for roofers and scaffolders
  • Good understanding of EL & PL insurance principles
  • Flexible approach to underwriting, considering each risk on its own merit
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to trade with brokers on individual cases and overall accounts
