Temporary Works Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team on the iconic HS2 project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all temporary works are adequately and safely designed, constructed, implemented, and removed in accordance with project procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply the principles of PC's TWC as defined in BS5975:2019, PAS8811:2017, and other applicable standards.
  • Coordinate all temporary works activities and ensure that a detailed design brief has been produced with full consultation.
  • Advise the permanent works designer of any temporary conditions or loads that should be considered in the permanent works design.
  • Ensure that a satisfactory temporary works design is carried out and independently checked for concept, structural adequacy, and compliance with the brief.
  • Register or record the drawings, calculations, and other relevant documents relating to the final design.
  • Ensure that TW documentation is adequately maintained within the site management systems.
  • Provide specific briefings on the limitations of temporary works schemes in conjunction with the designer where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of four years' experience in the environment and construction industry, ideally on projects in rail, highways, or tunnelling.
  • Previous Temporary Works Coordinator experience, ideally on large civil engineering projects in rail, highways, or tunnelling.
  • CSCS Card and CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Course (preferred).
  • Completed SMSTS (preferred).
  • Understanding and application of BS5975:2008+A1:2011/2019.
