Financial Accountant - Stock Management

Calor Gas is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the production of our management and statutory accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity of transactions within the General Ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with balance sheet account reconciliation, ensuring timely completion and resolution of outstanding items.
  • Coordinate stock counts across the business, with a focus on inventory management and KPIs.
  • Calculate revenue, cost of gas, and stock movement journals at month-end, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Work with the business to strengthen links between sites and finance, leveraging KPIs to enhance working capital management.
  • Contribute to the external audit process, interacting with external auditors.
  • Support the production of UK Statutory Accounts, ensuring compliance with UK Accounting Standards.
  • Coordinate reporting governance, ensuring adherence to agreed reporting definitions and guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives and contribute to process improvements.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects in response to specific business needs.
Requirements:
  • Qualified or working towards CIMA or ACCA qualifications.
  • Experience in a financial accounting environment.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and seek improvement.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail.
