About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Speech Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist speech and language therapy services to patients with complex communication and swallowing disorders in an acute hospital setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking and interpreting Videofluroscopy assessments
  • Leadership experience including supervision of others
  • Working with patients with a tracheostomy or altered airway
  • Undertaking and interpreting FEEs assessments
  • Experience of delivering training for SLTs and other healthcare professionals
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • HCPC registration
  • Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
  • RCSLT Dysphagia Competency
  • Evidence of Advanced Dysphagia Competencies
  • RCSLT Tracheostomy Competency
  • Videofluroscopy RCSLT Level 3 competencies
  • FEEs Level 2/3 competencies
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
Desirable Criteria

The following criteria would be desirable:

  • Relevant validated clinical, leadership or management courses
  • Experience of working in a leadership role

  • Good IT skills with the ability to utilise a number of basic computer programmes competently
