We are seeking an experienced AI Scientist to contribute to the development of our industry-leading AI models. As a member of our team, you will perform cutting-edge research to develop innovative solutions around the core problems we work on at BenevolentAI. Your focus will be on methods to address crucial challenges in end-to-end drug discovery, such as using multimodal data to identify the best target to modulate in order to treat a disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply your expertise in machine learning to research new solutions to important problems in drug discovery, utilizing tools such as PyTorch and transformers.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team comprising specialists in informatics, engineering, AI, and drug discovery to develop new capabilities and improve existing products.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and progress in machine learning for drug discovery, ensuring that our solutions remain at the forefront of the field.
  • Collaborate with machine learning engineers to translate research prototypes into practical solutions for BenevolentAI's products and platform, adhering to robust software development best practices.
  • Contribute to writing papers for journals and conferences, showcasing the impact of our research.
  • Promote machine learning best practices, such as scalable training and deployment, in-depth model introspection and evaluation, and the adoption of new state-of-the-art methods.
  • Identify opportunities for publications and represent BenevolentAI externally at conferences and events, further enhancing our reputation in the field.
About You
  • You hold an advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in machine learning, computer science, or a related field with a clear focus on empirical research.
  • You possess strong knowledge of modern machine learning methods and techniques, including transformers, LLMs, and GNNs.
  • You have strong proficiency with Python and experience building research prototypes and developing product-worthy tools from them.
  • You excel in communicating complex machine learning concepts to a broad audience and can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Bonus points if you have experience applying machine learning in drug discovery or related fields, and/or knowledge of core problems in drug discovery and development.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off.
