We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our Commodities and Global Markets team at Macquarie Group.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with stakeholders, identifying, mapping, and measuring critical data. You will play a key role in implementing Macquarie's data management program, working with subject matter experts across various change initiatives to manage and promote data governance activities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the identification and definition of critical data elements, including tracing data lineage and ownership, assessing data quality controls, and documenting outcomes in our enterprise data management tool.
  • Managing and uplifting existing business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage, capturing changes as initiatives modify data flows and controls, keeping our data management repository aligned with actual business data movements.
  • Enhancing documentation, processes, and templates to facilitate embedding effective data management activities across the Group.
  • Providing data management subject matter expertise to projects and other change initiatives, ensuring impacted data is managed and governance activities align with enterprise data management guidelines.
  • Advancing the mobilization of the Commodities and Global Markets data community.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in a quantitative discipline or applicable experience in financial services or financial markets.
  • Strong communication skills to work with all levels of stakeholders, build relationships, and convey the benefits of the data governance program.
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management tools, such as Collibra.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting within financial services.

  • An estimated annual salary range of $80,000-$120,000 AUD.
