We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Science Technician to join our team. As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching staff in the running of practical sessions for pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment and stock, including chemicals, are properly cleaned, stored, and accounted for.
  • Undertake regular safety checks and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Dispose of chemical and biological waste correctly, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist teaching staff in the preparation and execution of practical lessons and demonstrations, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for use.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to plan and prepare for lessons, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of science and a genuine interest in the subject.
  • Qualification linked to science or experience working in a laboratory.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to learn and train on the job, with a willingness to adapt to new situations.
