Remote Position for Lead Software Engineer - Scotland-Based Team

MAC Recruit Group Ltd is excited to partner with a fast-growing SaaS software business as they embark on their next phase of growth, seeking a highly skilled Lead Full Stack Engineer to drive forward new and existing projects.

This senior-level position offers an exceptional opportunity for experienced professionals to lead technical teams, leveraging their expertise to help the company achieve its quarterly goals and contribute to overall success. Although this role comes without line management duties, you will be expected to take ownership of delivering high-complexity, business-critical projects while mentoring and leading other engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage full-stack development skills using Node, React, Next.js, TypeScript, Express, GraphQL, State Management, message queues, databases, and APIs to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement DevOps pipelines, UI libraries, API designs, and payment gateways that meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain public Cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and ensure seamless integration with SaaS vendors.
  • Utilize experience with large-scale scheduling applications and multi-channel digital deliveries across iOS, Android, and Web platforms (a plus but not required).
  • Participate in coding assessments or past projects that showcase similar expertise.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in full-stack development with proficiency in Node, React, Next.js, TypeScript, Express, GraphQL, State Management, message queues, databases, and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps pipelines, UI libraries, API design, and payment gateways.
  • Familiarity with public Cloud development, particularly AWS, and SaaS vendors.
  • Experience with large-scale scheduling applications and multi-channel digital deliveries (a plus but not required).
  • Past projects or coding assessments demonstrating expertise in similar fields.
