We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Production Engineer to join our team at The Recruitment Co. in Bridgwater. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and manufacture of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical engineering codes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in designing and manufacturing electrical equipment. You will be responsible for developing electrical engineering specifications and drawings, as well as working with other engineers and departments to ensure the successful implementation of the design.

Duties:

  1. Oversee control panel design, ensuring manufacturing processes and quality of work are done in a safe and efficient manner, meeting the latest legislation and electrical regulations.
  2. Adhere to specifications and established industry standards of the product, ensuring it meets the needs of the consumer.
  3. Coordinate the component wiring schedule for new contracts, creating and loading the BOM into our MRP system.
  4. Evaluate and evolve the final product in terms of appearance, performance, functionality, durability, and safety.
  5. Involved in developing manufacturing processes and developing supply chains of key suppliers.
  6. Determine production cost and strategize the most cost-effective means of production.
  7. Communicate well with the engineering team to develop, train, and implement products.
  8. Test equipment prior to despatch, ensuring it meets the design specification, replicating the final installation on site.
  9. Troubleshoot to resolve faults, record findings, and sign the equipment off for final shipment to our customer.
  10. Troubleshoot, offering guidance and support to customers with existing equipment.
  11. Keep abreast of advancements in engineering and production, sharing knowledge with team members.
  12. Flexibility in supporting other roles within the company.

Requirements:

  • HND in electrical engineering is desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years office-based experience as a Senior Electrical Production Engineer.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
  • Proficiency in 3D such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or Solidworks.
  • Sound knowledge of design and electrical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience using automated control equipment such as PLCs and VFDs.
  • Proven experience of fault finding electrical and mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, sensors, and actuators.
  • PLC programming is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and critically minded.
  • The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to changes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
