About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our bank team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will play a key role in providing specialist clinical pharmacy services within an assigned area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services within an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Lead on matters pertaining to medicines management, advising on medicines use, and developing/auditing relevant protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
  • Assist in the provision of advice on pharmaceutical matters and medicines management.
  • Provide excellent patient care through direct patient-facing activities.
  • Undertake teaching and supervise less experienced Pharmacists, technical staff, students, etc.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operational running of the pharmacy department.

Person Specification

  • Vocational master's degree in pharmacy (or equivalent) and/or relevant post-registration hospital experience.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Independent Prescriber, or commitment to achieving this on appointment.
  • IT skills to at least ECDL standard or equivalent experience.
