Finance Assistant Role

We are seeking an experienced transactional finance professional to join our team as a Finance Assistant. This role offers a great salary and hybrid working arrangement, with an emphasis on Sales Ledger and Credit Control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and associated activities for all clients, including weekly/monthly returns to clients of service provided.
  • Collaborate with the Management Accountant to complete and reconcile the monthly sales ledger.
  • Proactively manage credit control, including dealing with queries, issuing statements, and chasing payment to ensure timely cash collection.
  • Assist with client rate negotiations, including supporting documentation and calculations around price uplifts and reviews.
  • Provide general ad-hoc assistance to the finance team and business as required, including additional reporting, information, and support during critical times.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, excellent IT skills, and experience with Sage. They should also possess excellent customer service skills, be comfortable talking with and challenging local authority clients, and have the ability to plan, work under pressure, multi-task, and meet short deadlines.
