Job Title: Professional AHP Lead

Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Allied Health Professions (AHP) professional to fill the role of Professional AHP Lead. This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.

About the Role:

The Professional AHP Lead will be responsible for providing senior-level strategic professional leadership and high-level expert advice across the organisation and externally with partners in NHS Boards, education and professional and regulatory bodies. The post holder will be directly responsible to the Interim Director of the Nursing and Systems Improvement (NSI) Directorate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic professional leadership and high-level expert advice across the organisation and externally.
  • Work collaboratively with Nursing and Midwifery Leads in the NMAHP team to enhance and support the development and delivery of a strong NMAHP function within HIS.
  • Ensure effective engagement with a range of AHP groups and organisations and their respective Royal Colleges, trade unions/ Professional Organisations and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide oversight and guidance, as well as constructive challenge in relation to the strategic planning and delivery of Improvement and Assurance programmes at national level.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a complex, emergence environment and will be able to provide expert advice on AHP professional matters and, more broadly, NHS structure, organisation, personnel and service delivery issues. The candidate will also have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
