We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team at BMW Group Plant Hams Hall for a 13-month placement. As a Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and complex data systems integral to our production processes.

  • Work on innovative projects that drive business growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and artificial intelligence to tackle challenges in predictive maintenance and optimize logistics operations.
  • Engage with our "Fully Connected Digital Twin" to drive innovation and lead projects alongside our dedicated associates.
  • Investigate generative AI applications, including the development of a Copilot tool aimed at enhancing operational transparency and efficiency.
  • Enhance your expertise in cloud computing by using platforms and tools from AWS, Azure, and others.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A proactive approach with creativity, project management capability, and a knack for entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Programming experience with a preference for Python & JavaScript skills – opportunity to deviate from this where appropriate.
  • A grasp of using SQL databases is beneficial.
  • Adept in areas such as data mining, machine learning, statistical signal processing, and pattern recognition.
  • Experience with business intelligence or familiarity with low/no code platforms is advantageous.
