Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Management Specialist to join our team at the NHS. This role is responsible for managing the Urgent Appointment Team, ensuring efficient and effective booking service in accordance with National Cancer Waiting Times Guidance and local Trust policies and procedures.

This position requires strong leadership skills, as you will be working without supervision, managing your own workload and the Urgent Appointment Team. You will also be responsible for referrals, which must be managed in accordance with national and local guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage team performance, provide training, develop databases/spreadsheets, collate/report data, input data onto relevant systems.
  • Work without supervision, manage own workload and Urgent Appointment Team, ensuring referrals are managed in accordance with national and local guidelines.

You will also be dealing with enquiries from GPs, patients, clinicians and other staff groups regarding the Urgent Appointment Team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE including English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Educated to level of NVQ Level 3 Business Administration / diploma or equivalent level of experience requiring ongoing on-the-job training.
  • Significant office experience, experience of working in the NHS, confidentiality/handling sensitive data, good working knowledge of NHS systems.
  • Able to communicate at various levels of staff, demonstrate good verbal and written skills, excellent communicator, ability to prioritise workload, plan and organise own time effectively.
