Electro-Mechanical Product Design Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Principal Optical Engineer to join our design team at a leading R&D organisation in Oxfordshire. This organisation has been serving high-quality sensor-based products to aerospace, oil & gas, and various energy markets for over 15 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement fibre optic, optical sensor, and optoelectronic solutions
  • Lead the product lifecycle from design to delivery
  • Utilise Python and/or R programming languages for data analysis and automation
  • Design and implement NI Labview code for test equipment control and data acquisition
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive innovation and excellence

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of fibre optics, optical sensors, and optoelectronics
  • Experience with Python and/or R programming languages
  • Fluency in NI Labview code
  • Strong understanding of digital and analogue electronics
