Exciting Opportunity for a Financial Professional

We are partnering with a dynamic PE-backed business in Rochdale to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This role offers a unique chance to gain exposure to the entire finance function and support the growth of a thriving organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Financial Controller and CFO with month-end reporting and financial analysis
  • Manage bookkeeping duties, including purchase and sales ledgers, and ensure accurate financial records
  • Monitor accruals and prepayments, and provide variance analysis to inform business decisions
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial statements
  • Calculate VAT in accordance with local legislation and ensure compliance
  • Manage the mailbox and respond to queries from stakeholders

Requirements
  • Previous experience in finance, preferably with a focus on accounting and bookkeeping
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification, such as AAT, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA
  • Hands-on experience with month-end reporting and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of multi-currency management is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in financial tasks
