This role is pivotal in ensuring our project meets its environmental commitments and sustainability goals. As the Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will oversee the delivery of environmental and sustainable solutions across our contractor partners at Sizewell C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with environmental commitments and conditions.
  • Manage significant environmental aspects of the project, minimizing risks to personnel and the environment.
  • Integrate environmental requirements into service contracts and evaluate bids.
  • Ensure all service providers comply with environmental management procedures.
  • Lead a team of Environmental Advisors, conducting regular inspections and performance reviews.
  • Support the Environmental and Sustainability Manager in meetings with regulators and local authorities.
  • Provide guidance on environmental matters to SZC staff, contractors, and consultants.
  • Engage with stakeholders including the Local Planning Authority and the Environment Agency.

Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of environmental regulations related to construction sites.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • A thorough understanding of management arrangements implementation.
