Job Overview

The Sterling Group is seeking a highly skilled Programme Officer to join its team in Coventry. As a key member of the Sport, Culture & Events Service, you will play a crucial role in delivering sport, physical activity initiatives, strategies, and action plans that positively impact local residents.

About The Job

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) requiring flexibility, including unsociable hours, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight stays. You will be responsible for enabling commissioning, delivery, and evaluation of sports and cultural activities in a robust and effective manner. The primary focus will be on ensuring high standards of financial and operational management and fulfilling reporting and monitoring functions within corporate frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of sport, physical activity initiatives, strategies, and action plans.
  • Enable commissioning, delivery, and evaluation of sports and cultural activities.
  • Ensure high standards of financial and operational management.

Requirements
  1. Graduate level qualification in a related discipline or substantial relevant experience.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the structure and funding of the sports, physical activity, and wellbeing sector in the UK.
  3. Understanding of project and programme management, including experience with project monitoring, appraisal, and evaluation systems.
  4. Experience working on development plans within sport, physical activity, or related sectors to promote access and widen participation.
  5. Ability to advocate for key sports, leisure, physical activity, and wellbeing projects and initiatives.
Benefits

The Sterling Group offers a competitive salary range: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes benefits such as health insurance, pension scheme, and annual leave.
