Procurement and Buying Lead

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our Sustainable Procurement team at the National Composites Centre. As a Procurement and Buying Lead, you will play a key role in optimizing procurement decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex procurement categories and troubleshoot challenges.
  • Build relationships with key suppliers to maintain high service delivery standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of category management strategies.
  • Drive procurement excellence and foster cultural change.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a procurement role, ideally within the construction or defence sector.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement processes, including PCR2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Excellent commercial skills, with the ability to analyze and negotiate best value agreements.
  • Ability to work strategically and drive continuous improvement in procurement practices.
