Wine Expert

We are seeking a dynamic Wine Expert to enhance our wine service at THE PIG - at Combe.

This role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge of wines while working on the floor during our vibrant restaurant service, building expertise in local and international brands, and growing qualifications by enrolling in various courses.

Responsibilities include:

• 
  
• Providing knowledgeable wine service to guests, pairing wines with our food menu.
  
• Honing skills and knowledge across the team, conducting briefings and team tastings.
  
• Maintaining a presentable and safe cellar, ensuring wine stock is stored correctly.
  
• Excellent communication with both the team and guests, having a caring and considered approach.
  
• Developing knowledge of wines and spirits, fulfilling additional responsibilities assigned by the Head Sommelier.
  
• Maintaining a clean and tidy bar area, including closing procedures of the bar.
  

Previous experience as a Sommelier or Bartender with a good knowledge of wine is required, along with a positive attitude and eagerness to develop expertise in wines and spirits.
