Technical Architect or Senior Technician/Technologist Job Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Architect or Senior Technician/Technologist to join our team at Macstaff. As a key member of our RIBA Chartered practice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects types and scales within our residential and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and other construction professionals to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, with knowledge of the planning system including NPPF / Local Plans and relevant guidance.
  • Produce project programmes and manage a small team of architects, assistants, and technologists.
  • Carry out designer CDM responsibilities and attend site appraisals, surveys, client meetings, and site inspections.
  • Be part of a cohesive team, mentoring and supporting colleagues to grow and learn together.

Requirements

  • Be a qualified Architect with a healthy mix of experience in the residential sector, including apartments and low-scale housing.
  • Have experience in healthcare and industrial sectors, which would be advantageous.
  • Be highly motivated, organised, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Be either Part III RIBA Qualified Architect or CIAT registered (if a Senior Technologist).
  • Have a strong construction knowledge with the ability to produce technical details.
  • Have at least 5 years UK office-based, post-qualification experience.
  • Be skilled in the use of Revit, with the use of AutoCAD being advantageous.

  • A competitive salary of GBP35K-GBP45K DOE + Package.
