1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 student with Autism in Islington. As a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the student's educational and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to the student, assisting in their learning and social growth.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and classroom teacher to develop and implement effective learning plans and interventions.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to promote the student's independence and wellbeing.
  • Utilize effective communication and behavioral strategies to facilitate the student's engagement in class activities.
  • Offer emotional and social support, helping the student develop essential life skills.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the student's needs are comprehensively met.
Requirements:
  • Experience or qualifications in supporting children with Autism or Special Educational Needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the unique learning styles and needs of the student.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in training related to Autism and special education.
