Role Summary

To maximize revenue and minimize losses through efficient stock management, sales optimization, and availability planning.

  • Contribute to the development of the department strategy, analyzing historical data to inform future decisions.
  • Support the Merchandiser in range selection and sign-off processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide trading, administrative, and analytical support to the Merchandising team, driving business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate forecasts, incorporating traded history and future events to inform range plans.
  • Produce and update line flows, ensuring up-to-date forecasts and commitment levels, and reporting contracts correctly on internal systems.
  • Review current performance with the Merchandiser, identifying opportunities for repeats, cancellations, and markdowns to optimize profitability.
  • Propose and cost markdown events and promotional activities, considering their impact on profitability.
  • Ensure timely availability of stock, meeting launch dates and intake targets in line with forecasts.
  • Place orders with suppliers, manage stock progress, and review quantities, shipment modes, and delivery dates under the Merchandiser's direction.
  • Keep product systems up-to-date with the latest information.
  • Analyze category, season, and product performance, providing insights to inform merchandising decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Allocator, Trainee Merchandiser, or existing Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Highly numerate, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Good planning, self-organization, and team management skills.
  • Previous retail experience and brand awareness.

  • Financial performance, ensuring profitability through stock management.
