Production Operator - BGA

Our client, a leading developer of boards used in ruggedized computing applications, is seeking a skilled Production Operator with high-level soldering experience for a 12-month temporary assignment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate BGA machine, including removal and placement of BGA components, IR, and hot air BGA rework stations.
  • Proficiency in surface mount soldering, BGA, LGA, and high-level solder skills for PCB rework.
  • Experience with hot air and hot plate rework techniques, manual dexterity for microscopic work, and ability to solder under a microscope.
  • Interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics accurately (Cadread, ViseCad) and possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process adherence.
  • X-ray electronic assemblies and perform other reasonable tasks in and around the operations environment as directed by the Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor.
Desirable Skills:
  • Operating/programming of 'ERSA' PL550L, ERSA PL650 IR machines, and Summit 1800i Air BGA rework machine.
  • Operating X-ray machine and performing manual soldering, attaching passive components, and performing rework on boards.
  • Providing engineer support for product failure analysis and supporting other departments from time to time.
Qualifications:
  • IPC-610 standards (acceptability of electronic assemblies), J-STD-100 standards (requirements for soldering electronic assemblies), and IPC7711/7721 (standards for printed circuit board assembly, repairs, and modifications).
