Mobile River Warden

A unique chance to be part of our team working on the River Wey and Goldalming Navigations, a tranquil waterway running through the heart of Surrey. As a Mobile River Warden, you will be involved in maintaining the waterway for our visitors and delivering a high standard of service to river users, local communities, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Working alongside the Ranger team, you will be responsible for providing cover for weir operations, monitoring water levels, and adjusting weirs as necessary. This will require 24hr cover, so you will need to live within close proximity of the Navigations. You will also be involved in conservation and biodiversity work, using your practical experience and knowledge to make a positive impact on the environment.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with an understanding of waterways and conservation, as well as practical experience in relevant land, conservation, and access management. You should have competence with tools and machinery, such as strimmers, mowers, and chainsaws, and be able to plan and organise your own work programme. A passion for conservation and high standards in customer service are essential.
