About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Team Leader to join our client's hardware team in Maidenhead. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in the technical leadership of a talented group of Hardware Engineers, specialising in both analogue and high-speed digital electronic hardware.

This is an onsite role, and candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain DV security clearance. In addition to the advertised basic salary, the role comes with benefits including an annual bonus, private medical cover, 25 days' holiday with the option to buy an extra 5, pension contribution, 4x life assurance cover, and flexible working hours with a 1pm finish on Fridays.

Main Responsibilities
  • Hardware Expertise: Provide invaluable hardware expertise and knowledge across a number of innovative research, development, and production programmes.
  • Design and Development: Specify, design, and prove/verify digital and analogue electronic hardware to deliver high-quality electronic hardware that meets requirements in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Perform design calculations and carry out simulations using industry-standard tools, and prototype as required, to estimate performance, identify high-risk areas, and ensure high-quality designs that require minimal re-design.
  • Project Management: Estimate time and effort required for electronic hardware activities and deliver to these estimates to ensure cost and schedule adherence.
  • Technical Direction: Provide technical direction and exert technical influence across multiple projects, ensuring the optimal approach, architecture, and design are selected.
  • Collaboration: Work constructively with other team members, actively contributing to design reviews to ensure a collaborative working environment.
Requirements
  • Security Clearance: Willing and able to obtain and maintain DV security clearance.
  • Education: Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Experience developing large, complex designs requiring multi-layer PCBs (and PCB stack-up design).
Desirable Skills
  • High-Speed Digital Designs: Experience with high-speed digital designs that include processors and programmable devices.
  • Analogue Circuit Design: Experience in analogue circuit design and switched-mode power supply design.
  • Power Supply Design: Able to design reliable power supplies that meet requirements and analyse performance against all input and output conditions across temperature.
  • Schematic Capture: Competent with schematic capture tools and understands how to constrain layout using rules/classes/groups.
