Job Title: Trade Planning Manager

At Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, we're looking for a skilled Trade Planning Manager to join our team. As a key member of our General Merchandise department, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our short-term trade response and long-term planning.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work across all our brands and channels, including Sainsbury's, Argos, Tu, Habitat, and Nectar. You'll collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to influence and drive commercial plans that deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate a broad range of inputs to deliver an integrated trading plan and a singular narrative that ensures cross-functional teams align in how we serve our customers.
  • Define effective plans and deliver large-scale trading initiatives, working closely with functions such as Commercial, Digital, Retail, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Lead end-to-end event planning and execution, regularly reviewing and adapting the plan, translating and challenging planning inputs, supporting the PIR process, representing GM in various forums, collaborating with reporting and merchandising teams, and working closely with the Sainsbury's and Argos A & R teams to ensure effective trade execution.
  • Understand the tensions and drivers between commercial, operational, and customer performance, while mobilising resources and playing a role in creating an inclusive, values-driven culture.
Requirements
  • Experience and working knowledge of multi-channel retailing across a number of commercial, analytical and operational disciplines such as Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Retail and Supply Chain.
  • Strong project management experience and organisation skills, with experience of working collaboratively and cross functionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to deliver projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills – you know how to work through ambiguity and evolving priorities at pace.
  • Ability to chair or facilitate utilising a range of coaching, presentation, or problem-solving techniques, that can be utilised across multiple functions and audiences.
  • Highly competent in developing a broad range of engaging, relevant content, or analysis, utilising a variety of tools including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, starting off with colleague discount, you'll be able to get 10% off at Sainsbury's, Argos, TU and Habitat after 4 weeks. This increases to 15% off at Sainsbury's every Friday and Saturday and 15% off at Argos every pay day. We've also got you covered for your future with our pensions scheme and life cover. You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 20% of salary, depending on how we perform. Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you which is why we give up to 26 weeks' pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks' pay for paternity leave.
