About the Position:

ZipRecruiter is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Mechanical Officer to join our team in Essex, Connecticut. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical aspects of our tourist heritage railroad.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the mechanical department
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of steam and diesel locomotives
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair of passenger coaches
  • Develop and implement project plans to ensure efficient operation

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, preferably with experience in the rail industry. A working knowledge of automotive (internal combustion) and marine (diesel) powerplants is also desirable.

$125,000 per year
