We are collaborating with a prominent manufacturer of injection moulding equipment located in West Drayton, who is seeking an Injection Moulding Process Specialist to enhance their expanding team.

The ideal Injection Moulding Process Specialist will possess a solid background in injection moulding techniques, tooling, materials, and adherence to quality standards.


Key responsibilities include the development of stable, repeatable, and optimized injection moulding processes for the company's tooling and materials, ensuring compliance with quality benchmarks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to moulding processes, materials, or equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for moulding.
  • Establish optimized injection moulding processes to meet health and safety, process capability, quality, and efficiency objectives.
  • Assess tooling for potential concerns and areas for enhancement regarding quality and efficiency, and propose improvements to optimize moulding, setup, and overall manufacturing operations.
  • Document and manage moulding process documentation.
  • Provide training and support to team members to achieve organizational goals.
  • Address process issues in collaboration with stakeholders (e.g., Continuous Improvement, Project Management, Tool Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production) to ensure root causes are identified and effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and report recommendations to management, including decision-making information such as product/process performance and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Conduct trials for new materials to ensure compatibility with existing tooling and equipment.
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making, ensuring root causes are identified and robust solutions are implemented.
  • Initiate and lead process improvement teams to address issues using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and 8D.
  • Stay informed about specifications, technology, and manufacturing processes.
  • Adhere to all current work instructions within the organization.
  • Comply fully with all existing health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing duties.
  • Undertake any reasonable tasks that fall within your capabilities.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in process development within the plastics sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering polymers across various industries.
  • Proficient in process optimization and process capability studies.
* 5+ years of relevant experience in injection moulding within a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • NVQ Level 3 in Injection Moulding
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in commissioning and developing new tooling and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize tasks according to departmental needs.
  • Effective communication skills across various stakeholders.
