As a Trainee Operational Delivery Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering heat, light, and power to homes and businesses. You will work outdoors with underground cables, overhead lines, and substations that operate between 230 and 132,000 volts.
The job requires flexibility and the ability to travel, as you may be required to undertake placements at other locations across the National Grid service area. However, we will provide accommodation and travel costs during these placements.
The apprenticeship programme takes around five years to complete, and you will spend your first 10-12 weeks being inducted onto the programme at one of our Training Centres. During this time, you will earn while you learn and develop your knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become an Operational Delivery Engineer.
Our minimum entry criteria require the following qualifications: A Levels in Maths and a Science (Grade A*-C), HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a Degree in Maths, Physics, Electrical/Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
In addition to the technical skills and qualifications, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about electrical engineering and committed to delivering high-quality results.
