About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. As a key member of our Facilities & Asset Team, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent service provision to both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake routine maintenance and repairs of property and land owned by SYMCA to maintain our portfolio to a high standard and in line with SYMCA requirements.
  • Undertake periodic checks and reporting on land parcels owned by SYMCA to ensure they are kept free of waste and other hazards that may constitute a health & safety risk.
  • Undertake basic routine maintenance checks associated with SYMCA leased vehicles, to maintain the road worthiness of the vehicles at all times.
  • Undertake audit checks of SYMCA assets to assist in maintaining the accuracy of our property records.
  • Provide general support to the facilities and asset team in order to assist the delivery of objectives.
  • Assist the facilities and asset team with office moves, moving items of furniture to various sites to ensure the best use of assets and maintain service delivery.
  • Assist in the reading of utility meters across all sites to ensure accurate readings are provided.
  • Undertake periodic porterage services, cardboard / packing waste collections and key cutting services to support SYMCA activities across all sites.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in repairs and maintenance within a commercial setting.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its implementation.
  • Basic experience in vehicle maintenance is beneficial.
  • Good geographical knowledge of South Yorkshire as you'll be working across our major interchange sites, head office, mini-interchange sites and various land parcels within the South Yorkshire region.
