Job Title: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable SEN School in Camden, North London.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a learning environment that recognizes the difficulties that SEN students may face. This will involve working closely with fellow SEN teaching assistants to identify specific needs of each child and making use of innovative instruments to arouse interest in learning.

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with classroom teachers to ensure that activities are related to the national curriculum and to communicate with students to determine their needs and ensure they are equally met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize outside-the-classroom learning activities, including sports and/or school outings
  • Work with fellow SEN teaching assistants to identify specific needs of each child
  • Make use of innovative instruments to arouse interest in learning
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure activities are related to the national curriculum
  • Communicate with students to determine their needs and ensure they are equally met
  • Observe children to find out changes in behavior or in other areas and report such observations to the classroom teacher
  • Help children in personal care, such as hygiene and clothing
Requirements:

We are looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant who has a minimum 2:1 degree and is passionate about working with SEN students. The successful candidate will be a team player who is able to work effectively with colleagues and students to achieve the best possible outcomes.
