We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Architect to join our team at Renewable Energy Grid Solutions. As a Senior Application Architect, you will play a key role in designing and developing the HVDC controls system solution, which is reusable and scalable to accommodate new requirements.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree or equivalent, with knowledge of power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business. You will be responsible for assessing customer requirements against reference architecture, owning HVDC controls system architecture definition and prototyping, defining application interfaces, and leading technical design reviews and leadership.

In this role, you will also train and coach junior team members to increase the depth of architecture knowledge, understand key milestones in a project plan, their financial impact, and ensuring technical risks are understood and mitigated in accordance with the plan. Additionally, you will lead improvements to existing solutions towards standardization, develop new strategies for control, protection, and sequencing, and support continual improvement through introduction of tools, methods, and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the HVDC controls system solution, ensuring it is reusable and scalable.
  • Assess customer requirements against reference architecture, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Owning HVDC controls system architecture definition and prototyping, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Define application interfaces to enable team members to develop low- and high-level design specifications.
  • Lead technical design reviews and leadership, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Train and coach junior team members to increase the depth of architecture knowledge, sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Understand key milestones in a project plan, their financial impact, and ensure technical risks are understood and mitigated.
