Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our design team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge processing equipment and solutions for the food processing and packaging industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for processing and packaging equipment, including control panels, wiring layouts, and electrical schematics.
  • Generate detailed electrical drawings and documentation using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into mechanical and software designs.
  • Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting during product development and production phases.
  • Ensure electrical designs meet all relevant legislation/standards specific to the project, such as BS7671, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA79, AS3000, etc.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to HNC/HND standard or above preferably in an electrical engineering related subject.
  • Proven experience in electrical design, preferably within the food/processing or packaging industry.
  • Practical electrical wiring experience.
  • Mechanical experience would also be beneficial.
  • Previous electrical CAD software and electrical design tools experience (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, Eplan Pro Panel is beneficial).
