">We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care and support to service users, focusing on emotional support, coping strategies, and therapeutic activities.
">Key Responsibilities

- Provide Emotional Support: Actively listen to individuals with mental health conditions, offering a safe and empathetic environment.">
- Coping Strategies: Assist individuals in developing and maintaining effective coping strategies to manage symptoms.">
- Therapeutic Activities: Facilitate and participate in group sessions and activities that promote mental well-being.">
- Mental Health Monitoring: Monitor and record individuals' mental health status, reporting any significant changes.">
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed and monitor their effects.">
- Daily Living Support: Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care and meal preparation.">
- Community Resources: Support individuals in accessing and engaging with community resources and support networks.">
- Care Planning: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.">
- Crisis Intervention: Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.">
- Mental Health Education: Educate individuals and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.">
- Advocacy: Advocate for individuals' rights and promote their social inclusion.">
- Documentation: Document observations and interventions accurately, maintaining confidentiality.">
- Goal Achievement: Support individuals in developing and achieving their goals for recovery and independence.">
- Safe Environment: Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals in mental health settings.">
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in mental health support.">
Desired Qualifications and Experience
">To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Mental Health Support Experience: Experience in working as a Mental Health support worker.">
- Acute/PICU Setting: Experience in working in a mental health acute/PICU setting.">
- Mental Health First Aid Training: Mental Health first aid training and NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.">
