Senior HPC Technology Consultant

This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from a remote location.

We are currently looking for a Senior HPC Technology Consultant to join our team to provide Hardware and Software support onsite on large HPC (High Performance Computing) systems for a prestigious customer.

As a Senior HPC Technology Consultant, you will be working as part of a dedicated team to deliver preventive and reactive support which will also require taking part in a 7x24 hour on-call rota to ensure compliance with the strict SLA (Service Level Agreement) associated with the contract.

Required product training will be provided along with mentoring from colleagues to enable the successful candidate to provide the level of support required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dedicated team to deliver support on advanced HPC hardware and software technologies.
  • Possess excellent customer interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Occasionally work as part of a wider team to provide support to other customers within EMEA.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a computer science or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience of HPC and Linux Systems.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Linux and ability to perform hardware repairs are mandatory requirements.
  • Good knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible and Linux kernel features such as memory management is essential.
  • Strong script writing skills on platforms such as Python, Bash, etc.
  • Patching and securing Linux and dealing with system vulnerabilities.
  • Cluster management software (HPCM / Bright Cluster Manager).
  • High-speed networks (Infiniband).
