The Role

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services and leading the pharmacy team at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Maidstone. Your expertise will ensure seamless delivery of pharmaceutical services, aligning with GenesisCare's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients, ensuring consistency with GenesisCare policies.
  • Offer high-level advice on pharmaceutical matters in oncology, driving informed decision-making.
  • Participate in the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Lead the clinical checking of chemotherapy and final release to nursing staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Line manage the centre pharmacy team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking an exceptional individual with:

  • Experience in dispensing medicines and medicine management in a hospital setting.
  • Expertise in screening and checking systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions.
  • Proficiency in electronic prescribing systems.
  • Experience in clinical audit and/or practice research.
  • Knowledge of protocol development, implementation, and monitoring.
Requirements
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC).
  • BSc Pharm or MPharm degree.
  • One year's preregistration training.
  • Post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (e.g., Clinical Diploma).
  • Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and British Oncology Pharmacy Association (BOPA).
