Job Overview:
Shorterm Group is seeking an experienced Reliability Technician to join their team in a key role that will contribute to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Reliability Technician, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance, repair, and fault finding of rail vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Your key tasks will include:

  1. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks as per the laid down Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMI).
  2. Repair and Fault Finding: Identify and repair faults on rail vehicles, using your mechanical skills and knowledge of heavy diesel engines and power packs.
  3. Assist Technicians: Assist other technicians as required, working collaboratively to achieve the team's objectives.
  4. Operate Equipment: Operate powered plant, lifting and mechanical handling equipment, and drive road vehicles as required.
  5. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all laid down health and safety legislation and depot procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3: Hold a relevant qualification in heavy maintenance or a related field.
  2. Heavy Maintenance Experience: Have experience in heavy maintenance, with a focus on rail vehicles and heavy diesel engines.
  3. Mechanical Skills: Possess strong mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults on complex equipment.
  4. Team Player: Be a team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
