Role Overview

In this position, you will oversee site engineers, evaluate construction documentation, and support site management teams in all facets of health, safety, and environmental governance. You will work closely with the Engineering and Integration team to ensure that operations align with specifications and technical drawings.

Project Overview

The Kilgallioch Windfarm project involves the construction of 96 turbines in the surrounding areas, including road development, electrical infrastructure setup, and the construction of a control facility. Additionally, it encompasses rock extraction from nearby quarries and land preparation.

Responsibilities of the Lead Civil Engineer

Supervise site engineers and assist the Site Agent and supervisors in the daily operations of the site. Collaborate with the site agent to achieve outstanding health, safety, environmental, and quality outcomes. Ensure quality control, comprehension of specifications, and adherence to DWI requirements. Provide engineering assistance to resolve technical challenges and address inquiries. Proactively tackle any unforeseen technical issues and other challenges that may arise. Maintain and provide accurate setting out and dimensional control to ensure precise construction.

Required Qualifications and Experience

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within the water sector. Strong planning skills and the ability to effectively delegate tasks to the engineering team. A valid CSCS / CSR card. Comprehensive knowledge of current building regulations, legislation, and health and safety standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. A full UK driving license is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Exceptional attention to detail along with strong planning and organizational capabilities.
