Strategic Enterprise Applications Architect Specialist

At BSI, we are seeking an exceptional Enterprise Applications Architect to join our team in Chiswick, West London. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving the maximum strategic advantage from technology investment.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and work under the defined strategy and scope of the IT Strategy and Architecture Director. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that BSI gains the strategic advantage from technology investments by:

  • Having a wealth of knowledge across the application lifecycle, from strategy through waterfall and agile implementation to operations, support, and decommissioning.
  • Understanding how SaaS platforms are kept evergreen within an application landscape.
  • Holding detailed practical knowledge of the organisation's IT infrastructure and software development and architecture application models, standards, tools, and techniques.
  • Being conversant with the organisation's IT strategy, policies, and standards, including risk assessment, change management, configuration management, reliability, and safety methods, and the use of metrics.
  • Communicating persuasively and effectively to senior leaders and project teams.
  • Awareness of commercial constraints.

Key responsibilities include creating, iterating, and maintaining enterprise application architectures aligning to the organisation's future state and enabling its evolution, as well as defining how to keep application suites and ecosystems up-to-date, developing plans and roadmaps for applications and application suites, advising users on forthcoming functionality, identifying strategic new and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact upon BSI's strategic goals, threats, and risks, and ensuring system designs meet specific requirements.

Typically educated to bachelor degree level or equivalent, the ideal candidate should hold TOGAF certification, a Certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture (Practer), and demonstrate first-class communication skills, combining technical competence with business and commercial awareness.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you can expect a salary in the region of £90,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
