Accounts Assistant

Career Legal is seeking a skilled Accounts Assistant to join their team in Southampton. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for processing purchase ledger invoices, agents ledger invoices, and staff expenses.

Responsibilities
  • Invoice Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase ledger invoices, including verification of authorisation procedures and entry of invoice details into the ledger.
  • Agent Ledger Invoices: Process agents ledger invoices, entering details into the ledger and preparing invoices for payment.
  • Staff Expenses: Process staff expenses, ensuring correct authorisation procedures and entry of expense details into the ledger.
  • Supplier Management: Enter new suppliers into the finance system and investigate discrepancies in supplier statements.
  • Query Resolution: Investigate and resolve queries from suppliers and fee earners as required.
  • Coverage: Provide holiday and sickness cover for other Accounts Assistants in the department.
Candidate Profile
  • Finance Experience: Prior experience in a finance role is essential.
  • Purchase Ledger Experience: Experience processing purchase ledger invoices is preferred.
  • Software Knowledge: Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the finance team and fee earners.
  • Time Management: Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
